Cherish - Alternate Version from A Little Bit Biased

Hello, hello!  2 posts in 2 days!  What's up with me?!?
Well, you may remember I posted about my new Cherish quilt pattern back in February.

Well, I made another version of that pattern that I want to share with you!
Since I know applique is not for everyone, I wanted to make a version of this pattern that doesn't have the appliqued scalloped border.  When I was making the original and writing the pattern, I knew it could be cute either way.  I always want to encourage you to think "outside of the box" and make each ...

Rough and Tumble Quilt in Red, White and Blue from A Little Bit Biased

Red, white and blue is one of my favorite color combos and I'm a firm believer that one can never have too many red, white and blue quilts.  I have a couple of red, white and blue flag quilts, a couple of red, white and blue star quilts, a red quilt, some blue quilts. I even have a red, white and blue Pineapple quilt.  But I didn't have a plain red, white, and blue patchwork quilt...so I set off to make one last June.

I grabbed lots of red, white and blue fabrics from my stash and ...

Merry Pinwheels Baby Quilt from A Little Bit Biased

Hi there!  Today I want to share a baby quilt that I actually finished a couple of months ago.
The pattern is called Merry Pinwheels and this is the second Merry Pinwheels quilt I've made.  If you're curious, you can check out the original one HERE.

I made this because I really wanted to see what this pattern looked like in non-Christmasy colors!
Plus, I thought a pinwheel quilt would be so cute for a baby.

I based the color scheme on the sweet yellow, pink, and copper-brown ditzy floral print in the middle row above. I just ...

Cherish - A Gigi's Thimble Quilt Pattern from A Little Bit Biased

Hello friends!  Today I want to introduce to you my new quilt pattern, Cherish.
It's a scrap-friendly pattern that features lots of patchwork hearts and a scalloped border.
There are 3 size options included: lap, throw, and full.

This was my original fabric pull - all from my stash.

The pattern is perfect for using your stash, scraps, or precuts.
I love simple patchwork; these hearts are so fun to make.

I would describe the skill level for this pattern as advanced beginner/intermediate.
The hearts are rather simple and surprisingly, the appliqued border is too.

The scallop is a ...

Plump Pluses - 4 Versions from A Little Bit Biased

I just realized that I have never blogged about my Plump Pluses pattern!
And considering I have made 4 versions...I thought I would share!

This pattern came about because I wanted to figure out a way to use a lot of my 2-1/2" precut squares.

So I designed this block and was able to make a whole quilt with fabric I had on hand.  The only thing I bought specifically for this quilt was the background - Boy Blue from the Confetti Cottons collection by Riley Blake.  I've really been trying to use more colorful backgrounds this year ...

New Quilt Pattern - Merry Pinwheels from A Little Bit Biased

 Hi friends!
I'd like to introduce you to my new pattern,
Merry Pinwheels!

I wanted to design a 2-1/2" strip-friendly pattern
and thought these pinwheels were really fun!

Merry Pinwheels would be cute in any colorway.
But I used this darling Rolie Polie from Riley Blake Designs called
Holiday Cheer by My Mind's Eye.

It's full of vintagy Christmas goodness!

And bonus, the selvages are so cute!

I believe the skill level for Merry Pinwheels is "confident beginner".

It comes with instructions for FIVE different quilt sizes:
Crib, Throw, Twin, Queen, and King.
This is the ...

Scrap Happy Quilt Tutorial from A Little Bit Biased

This next project I want to share with you is such a great scrapbuster!
I saw a quilt like it at my friend's mother's house and knew it would be such a fun project
so I just had to make one too!

Here's a brief description of how to make this beginner-friendly quilt:

1. Gather a bunch of 4-1/2" wide scraps (they can be any length you want).
I cut mine anywhere from 1-1/2" to about 5-6" in length.

2. Sew them into one long strip.  Press the seam allowances open.

3. Cut that strip ...

Positive Vibes Quilt from A Little Bit Biased

Hello, hello!  I finally got some pictures of my
finished Positive Vibes quilt that I want to share with you today!

I got her quilted a while ago but I am so slow at binding these days
and I'm even slower at getting pictures!

I designed this pattern to go along with my recent fabric collection
with Poppie Cotton called Treasured Threads.  The little rectangles in it
remind me of stitching.

It's fat-quarter-friendly and the pattern comes
with instructions for 2 size options - baby and throw.

I hosted a quilt-along for it in March and April of this ...

Kitty Loves Candy Fabric from A Little Bit Biased

I fell in love with this new fabric line,
Kitty Loves Candy by Poppie Cotton
the moment I saw swatches of it at the
International Quilt Market last fall.

It has such a fun, unique color palette for Halloween and the prints are
sweet and whimsical.  There are so many fun details like Candy the witch,
barns, chickens, kittens + pumpkins, pigs, stars, florals, and ginghams.  It's just darling!

I decided to use some Kitty Loves Candy fat quarters to remake
my Cross Stitch pattern.

It's a Layer Cake friendly pattern
and the quilt finishes at 62" x 81 ...

My Favorite Things Fabric Tour from A Little Bit Biased

I have been a fan of Elea Lutz' designs since I first discovered her in 2015.
Her first fabric line was Milk, Sugar, and Flower (which was absolutely adorable;
I'm sad I missed out on it!)  However, I did end up making a
Christmas quilt with her second fabric line, Little Joys.

Today I get to share some projects I made with her
most recent fabric line, My Favorite Things.  It has that
sweet, vintage style that Elea is known for.  And she is now a designer for
Poppie Cotton which I think is a match made in heaven ...

Flora's Baskets - Scrappy Version from A Little Bit Biased

Hi there!  I have been wanting to share a new
project that I started a month or two ago.

It's based on my new pattern,
Flora's Baskets.

Flora's Baskets is a pattern I designed
based on an antique quilt I saw on
@caravanquilts Instagram feed.

[This picture is shared with permission from @caravanquilts.]

I love following that account.  It's a great resource
if you're in the market for an antique quilt!

Flora's Baskets from A Little Bit Biased

Hello, hello!  Today I am sharing my
third (and final) pattern that I designed
for my upcoming fabric collection
with Poppie Cotton called, Treasured Threads.

Meet - Flora's Baskets.

It's a Layer Cake (10" square)
friendly pattern and it comes with instructions
for 3 different size quilts - lap, twin, and queen.

It's my spin on a vintage-inspired
Basket pattern and I love this particular
basket block!  Quilting and basket blocks
go hand-in-hand in my opinion.
Basket blocks are just classic.

The quilting was done by Jen Ostler in Highland, UT.
I always love crosshatch quilting.  It's timeless ...

Sprout - A New Pattern from A Little Bit Biased

Hello!  Today I want to share
a new pattern I designed called Sprout.

It's a simple applique pattern that uses 10" squares.
It comes with instructions for 3 quilt sizes -
baby, throw, and queen.  This is the throw size.

I used fabrics from my upcoming fabric line,
Treasured Threads by Poppie Cotton
(which ships to stores at the end of January).
The background fabric is from my line too.
It's a great low-volume grid print called
Good Measure in the color Natural.

The backing is a pink Country Confetti by Poppie Cotton.

The simple custom quilting was done ...

Treasured Threads Fabric Tour from A Little Bit Biased

I can't believe the day is almost here!
My first fabric line EVER is shipping to stores
at the end of the month.  It's a dream come true!

I would like to introduce to you - Treasured Threads
by yours truly, for Poppie Cotton.

This is a bright, happy fabric line
inspired by my love of crochet and quilting.
A sweet sparrow bird is the mascot.

Some of the prints give a nod to graph paper,
doilies, and gingham.  And of course, there are lots of
florals thrown in too!  The colors include different
shades of pink, aqua, and ...

Seaside Quilt from A Little Bit Biased

 It's Friday, December 23rd, 2022.
Two days until Christmas.
This month I've hosted two family parties,
bought, wrapped, and delivered all the neighbor/friend gifts,
purchased and wrapped a good portion of our family's gifts,
ate my weight in toffee, made two batches of cinnamon rolls,
made two batches of caramels (both of which ended up in the trash, sadly),
had a girls' night out/favorite things exchange with my besties,
did two puzzles, and lots, lots more!  It's been a great month overall.

Today, I have been ...

Crowning Glory Quilt from A Little Bit Biased

Today I want to share one of my favorite
quilts that I made this year!  I finished it a few months ago
but just recently got some pictures of it.

The pattern is called Crowning Glory and it's in my book,
Quilt the Rainbow, available HERE.  The original one
was made in all yellow fabrics from my stash.

I really love the yellow one.  But the darker version
just speaks to me!  I love the blues, browns, and creams on the dark gray
background.  Most of the fabrics I used were from the line ...

Sew Delightful Baby Quilt from A Little Bit Biased

Hello!  I am trying to finish up some
blogging before the end of the year.  I have about
5 finished quilts that I want to share with you (so stay tuned).
Sometimes snapping nice pictures is the hardest part for me!

Today I have a little baby quilt I want to share.

This pattern is called Sew Delightful from my book,
Quilt the Rainbow.  The original quilt (the red one) is quite large
finishing at 90-1/2" x 90-1/2".

Sew Delightful is easy to make bigger or smaller, square or rectangular.
I made just 4 blocks to make the ...

Positive Vibes Quilt Pattern from A Little Bit Biased

 Today I want to introduce
my new quilt pattern, Positive Vibes

It's a confident beginner-friendly and fat quarter-friendly quilt pattern.

It comes with instructions for 2 different size quilts: baby and large throw.

I made this baby version in solid black and white
which I think is really striking!  It's nice that it's gender-neutral too
(for when I give it away...someday)!

I am all about large-scale prints for the back of quilts
and I'm especially obsessed with large-scale plaid prints at the moment!
This one is from the line Fleur Noire by Riley Blake.

Jen ...

Box Elder Trail Quilt Finish (Multi-Color Version) from A Little Bit Biased

 Hello!  I finally snapped
some pictures of the multi-color version
of my Box Elder Trail quilt.
For reference, here is the original version:

[ Photo courtesy of  Martingale Publishing]

It's the green quilt in my new book,
Quilt the Rainbow.

There are 10 projects in the book to help you whittle
down each color of your stash.  Nine are monochromatic
quilts and one (the cover quilt) is multi-color.

Box Elder Trail is a great scrap buster project!
The only fabric I specifically bought for this quilt was the floral
background - a Tilda fabric from the line Daiseyfield.
For the small ...
